Stopped for refreshments part way through a long all-day hike. So many thoughtful details: boot covers at the door, bike repair station, filtered/chilled water for filling bottles out the back by the bike repair area. Friendly and efficient staff. Lovely warm atmosphere. We had drinks from the bar and tea and cake and it was all very reasonably priced. The tea came with a huge cup, tea pot, hot water and plenty of milk. You could get settled in for a good while! Didn’t have food other than an amazing raspberry and white chocolate flapjack which was locally made and gave us enough energy to get back to Hathersage. Toilets very clean and well stocked.
I stayed here with a friend before doing a hike around the area. I would highly recommend. The hotel is clean, very welcoming and good value for money. Kudos to Jonnathon for looking after us and making us welcome. I look forward to the next time.
Came today with my son after a long walk. Had the burger and chips. Food was lovely......proper chips the burger was cooked just how I like it awesome food. The only downside is the menu could do with some more variety. I did not use the rooms for overnight stay but looked welcoming throughout.
The most amazing stay here. The location is beautiful, the staff are so friendly and could not do more to help. The rooms are beautiful and modern and such good value. The best shower I have had at any hotel/ pub. The breakfast that was included in the price was just amazing. Dog friendly pub with free parking and on the doorstep of so many amazing Peak District walks
Staff and management really friendly and helpful , food excellent and generous portions. Ideally place for many walks with ample parking. The only downside is the reduced serving hours ( probably not the case in summer months) supprisingly very quiet considering on main road due to design of accommodation.
When we had car troubles and needed a safe warm place to wait, the pub staff were welcoming and kind. Best toasties I've ever had. Thank you so much.
Good local pub convenient for Ladybower Reservoir. Good food. Dog friendly. Beware of the car park though. You must register at the pub, otherwise it's £3.00 per hour!
Excellent service and food. Booked a table for 14 for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. Staff had put up 'Happy Anniversary' banners and left us a card. Food and service were excellent throughout. Our chocolate anniversary cake, made to order for us, was delicious.
